A route object is what tells the internet which AS may announce your prefix. On IP4 Market you create it yourself, in your own name — no ticket, no waiting. Here is exactly how.

What a route object is and why you need it
To announce a leased range over BGP you need a route object in the RIPE Database. It links your prefix to your origin AS. Without it, many networks filter out your announcement and your addresses simply won’t route where it matters.
Need IPv4 addresses?
Browse clean, RIPE-verified subnets at $0.50/IP/month.
On our platform you create that object yourself, under your own maintainer, because when you lease a range we delegate mnt-routes to you. That is control most leasing providers never give a lessee.
Before you start
- Your lease is active.
- You have set up your RIPE details (recommended).
- You know the ASN you will announce from, e.g.
AS64500.
Step 1 — Add your RIPE credential (once)
In your dashboard open RIPE → Credentials and click Add credential.
Enter a name, your maintainer (the one we delegated mnt-routes to), and a RIPE Database API key for that maintainer (generate it in the RIPE portal, under your mntner).
Save. We validate the key against RIPE before storing it, so you know right away if it is correct.
Step 2 — Create the route object
Go to My Leases and open the lease for your range.
Click Manage route object (RIPE).
Pick your credential and enter your origin AS (e.g. AS64500). Add an optional description if you like, then submit.
The object is created under your maintainer and is usually visible within a couple of minutes.
RPKI is already handled. We create the RPKI ROA for your ASN when your range is set up, so your announcement validates as soon as your route object is live. Check it any time on stat.ripe.net or rpki.cloudflare.com.
Troubleshooting
“Authorisation failed”
The API key must belong to the maintainer we delegated mnt-routes to. Check your credential under RIPE → Credentials.
The object doesn’t appear
Give it a few minutes and refresh. You can confirm it directly in the RIPE Database for your prefix.
